If you tuned in for Game 2 on Tuesday night you were treated to some fine, fine offensive basketball. Unfortunately it was played by the men in silver and black. From the get-go, the Spurs ran their offense to perfection, building an early lead that allowed them to control the pace of the game throughout. Once the Spurs laid claim to how the game would be played, OKC's best efforts were not nearly good enough.
Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden all had strong bounce-back games, but the fact that their offense meant little and in fact, OKC played comparatively worse, underscores what is going on in these playoffs for the Spurs. They are playing at an offensive pace which no other team can keep up, and they proved it again tonight. The game's final score was a sober reminder of the missed Game 1 as well as the massive task that lies ahead.
