The Thunder defeated the Lakers last night to finish a strong five game homestand with a record of 5-0. The Lakers were coming off of an impressive win the night before, defeating the reigning champion Mavericks in strong fashion, so were assuredly looking to put another dent in a team with a better record. For a quarter, it looked like the Lakers were ready to give the Thunder a reality check in playing physical basketball.
The Thunder started to turn things around in the 2nd quarter, ramping up their defense and meeting the Lakers' physical play with some of their own. The defense of Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook limited the Lakers to only 62 points the rest of the way. In the end, although the Lakers were able to get the lead down to seven, it was clear that they did not have enough offensive fire power to catch the Thunder.
