NBA Rankings, Week 1: I Have the Power!

Ahoy, here we are with the first week of action in the bag, meaning that we can start tallying up the various team rankings from around the web. The Thunder started off hot with a record of 5-0, but two consecutive losses have tempered our excitement.

From Around the League:

SOURCE RANKING (last) COMMENT
SB Nation TBD (n/a) Coming soon.
ESPN - Hollinger 7 (n/a) The Thunder have started off well, but they're currently ranked behind the Cavaliers in offensive efficiency. Huh?

NBA.com 2 (3) Starters scoring less than 90 points per 100 possessions.
Sports Illustrated 3 (n/a) Robson notes that Russell Westbrook is not getting into the lane as frequently, which has depressed his shooting percentage and free throw attempts.
ProBasketballTalk 2 (n/a) James Harden an early "Sixth Man" candidate.
Hoopsworld 3 (4) Imperfect strangers?
Behind the Basket 2 (n/a) Westbrook still struggling to be an efficient player, where he adds more than he takes off the table.
FoxSports 2 (n/a) Early adversity has been dealt with.
Covers 2 (2) So far the Thunder are not doing well against the spread.
CBS Sports 1 (3) Pillow fight?

Hello ZorgonB

A friendly Blazeredger here to say keep up the good work and please dont think that all of us Bedgers are trolls. I like OKCs team and coach. I also like the fact that we both have good teams and can keep a game interesting for 48 minutes. We pulled out a decent win last night and it wont be easily repeated. OKC is and will remain our biggest challenge in the west. And same for OKC, the Blazers will be their biggest headache. I could see us being the WCF matchup! Anyways, again sorry that some chumps from our site dogged on your site. We are not all like that and some of us do appreciate a good game. Sadly some folks see it more than a game a make it personal. I myself am not like that and I can speak for 99% of Bedgers. Now im officially a member of your site. I cant wait to come visit.

: )

CYA soon,
Peace Out,
CJB

Thx for stopping by!

Any newcomer is welcome here, even opposing fans. It just goes to show how passionate the Portland fanbase is, and how Thunder fans need to match the energy both at the game as well as at home.

I really hope Portland keeps their momentum going. It seems like year to year they go through stretches where they look phenomenal, but then experience an injury or something and suffer big setbacks. With Dallas and the Lakers struggling this year and the Spurs slowly falling apart, I do think the top spot in the west is up for grabs. I’m excited to see what a full year of Wallace will do for you guys.

I think what makes the potential match-up between Portland and OKC so compelling is that they’re so different, providing a contrast in styles.

agreeed!

It will be nice to see our teams at the top. Its been the same teams at the top for so long, it will be nice to see some other teams get a run at the title. I would love to see a POR vs OKC matchup in the west finals, that would be epic!

Ive always watched Durant ever since we didnt pick him #1. He the best pure shooter in the game right now IMO. You guys have a great roster, you have a real good chance to be in the finals. It should be a fun year for both of our teams.

Anyways, I just checked back here, thanks for the response J.A. Sherman

Good Luck OKC-and good rest, you guys deserve a day off!

I love Portland's team

And the fanbase. If I ever have cause to leave Oklahoma Portland would be high on my list of possible destinations just so I could go games in the Rose Garden.
