Game Thread #19: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Golden State Warriors
Oklahoma City Thunder at Golden State Warriors, Jan 27, 2012 9:30 PM CST
The Thunder travel to the west coast for the first time this season as they prepare to take on the Warriors. Golden State gave OKC some trouble last season, winning one game through an aggressive offensive scheme and relentless offensive rebounding. OKC must have their rebounding focus tonight if they are going to come away with the road win.
Please stop by SBN's outstanding Warriors site, Golden State of Mind, to say hello.

Turnovers are looking like a problem so far
Durant has definitely had more success in a half-court offense

Sefolosha
Did they say why he went to the locker room? I wasn’t paying a lot of attention.
I have the GSW crew
I think it was a minor ankle injury

Yeah me too..
Watching on NBAtv but at least I have high def unlike usual.
He's playing like a madman tonight
I’m predicting 20+, if he can get the minutes. Out for blood!

Thunder need to be careful
The Warriors can outscore them on any night.

Washington game all over again
Now is where GSW get a 20 pt lead in 15 secs
With the way the Thunder played at the beginning, they should have built a huge lead
Now they let GSW hang around, and now the Warriors smell blood
Thunder hit a slump at a really bad time
Didn’t really have a go-to play when they needed it

Thunder's turnovers are killing them
the Warriors will always make you pay for those

Also 5 shots in a row between Ibaka and Perkins
Just like last year when Perk was determined to run a fastbreak and couldn’t. This year he’s bound and determined to get that stupid jump hook of his in
It's just unbelievable
And it always happens to us on the road. We can’t ever build on a lead
Also, have you guys noticed our new Ibaka inbounds play
Ibaka is always wide open in the corner for a shot, but he always wants to fade away, and thus, never seems to make it
Fun first half...
Pretty much exactly what I expected, high turnovers, high points, GS raining threes and not rebounding the ball.
Why do we always let rookies or guys who've never made a shot in their life have career games?
Anyone else notice this?
Because we rely too much on pressure defense that focuses on ball handlers
while also keeping our eye on principal scorers. As a result, we usually end up leaving some guy open. If the other team can find him and he can knock down shots, out goose is cooked.

Why all the wideopen looks
Quit watching the ball and stay with your man
The Thunder are trying too hard to beat the Warriors at their own game
They need to focus on giving the Warriors tough shots, not looking to get out on the break.

Holy crap..
These turnovers are ridiculous. This is painful to watch.
Harden single-handedly keeping us in the game

He jabbed an elbow into his chest after the shot
Rumor has it that Texas is about to sign a huge corporate sponsorship deal for the Longhorn Network. They just have to decide which brand represents them best: Dyson, Eureka or Hoover.

Reggie J was a good 3pt shooter in college
That’s one reason I was excited about him. He’s being left wide open. Thank God Ibaka feels like rebounding today
Lets see some solid bench play!
Need some good bench play to keep this lead in the fourth.
Good help side D to start the quarter

This is getting ridiculous
Every time we sniff double digits, we have to lose our mind for a few possessions to give them a chance to get back in it
We're getting out hustled on the boards now
and only running isolations. If we settle down, we can get the lead back to a comfortable margin.

Warriors are really playing out of control
But if the game continues at a chaotic place, they have the advantage.

Warriors are shooting themselves in the foot, just like the Wizards did

but against the Wizrds we decided to, "Let 'em off the hook!"
Let’s not do that against the Warriors
Anyone else think DC should only be allowed to take 4 3pt shots a game if he makes the first or second
If he goes 0-2, no more for you
Nah, he can get himself out of a rut.
If he ventures into the 6-7 range without hitting, then I get a bit cheesed.

GSW motto tonight
If you can’t beat them, injure them
I thought Serge was going to finally get a block last trip
his streak is in jeopardy

How does this team manage to overcome all adversities this year
even those caused by themselves (mostly TOs)

RW close to a triple double
Needs 4 more boards and 2 more assists
OT, anyone?

Harden has been quite a pest on defense in the second half
very disruptive

RW almost had a quintuple double
28/11/6/7 and 7 TOS
That’s the second time he’s almost had a legitimate quadruple double against the Warriors at home. RW will eventually achieve this rare feat, and it will come against the Warriors
It could happen!
I’m sure it will go down at some point of his career. Just like KD’s first 50 point game.
