Quick Trade idea for Discussion

I am not huge on trades for our team but everyone knows we need a wing player who can shoot and play defense.
I think a Trade of Nate Rob plus our first for Nic Batum would be a great fit on both sides.
PDX needs a backup PG who can score becuase they have no one behind Miller and when they picked up Crash (G. Wallace) they made Batum almost useless.
If not Nate Rob i would even consider trading Cole A. plus our first. As they need another Center as well.

I like Batum
But I doubt there would be any way to get him from Portland for Robinson + a draft pick. I remember being very impressed by Batum’s growth this season, and he had a great game against the Thunder on 4/1.
If Portland is looking for a PG to back up/replace Miller, then they’d probably chase Maynor, not Robinson. I imagine they’d want some size to go along with it too.
To tweak it a bit, what about a trade of Batum for Maynor + Mohammed?
- you get a solid backup SF
- Robinson becomes the backup PG
- the team hopes Cole Aldrich can step into Mohammed’s role
-Portland gets an up and coming PG
- they don’t lose all of their back-up size up front

Not sure if I like a Russ-Nate pg duo
neither of those guys are adept at coming in and calming down the offense. I wouldn’t give up Maynor, but I don’t think they would take Nate. I would rather go after someone a little less known, seeing as Harden and KD are going to take up almost all of the minutes on the wing, because I don’t think Batum would get enough minutes to make up for the loss of Maynor.
But then again, I really, really like Maynor.

i think they would want maynor more. but unless we can find another backup PG we dont give him up. We overvalue our people but not like PDX fans. I honestly wouldnt mind nate as a backup becuase he is really good when he get mins. But because he and Russ are similar i dont think they throw maynor in there
another bet woule be Nate’s expiring contract plus Pliess’ rights and our first for Batum.
That might be as fair a shake as a i can think of. It helps set PDX up for the future with Pliess and a pick and some breathing room for a larger trade with miller and nate’s expiring contracts. i think nearly 13mil . This would allow them to parlay that into monta ellis or something.
What i am afraid of is our loss or connection with Cho being gone.( btw i hope we hire him back). Allen wants to win now and it seems like that organization doesnt know what they are doing right now.
How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.

I'd go for it, but I'm not sure PDX would give up Batum that easily.
My draft/trade/FA interests vary daily. Artest, Nocioni, Illysova, Al Thornton yada yada yada…
Anyway, what I’m interested now is this…
1. Byron Mullens (or Aldrich, or Pleiss depending on which player the Thunder thinks is not developing) for Ryan Anderson. (if necessary give the 24th pick for a future 2nd rounder)
2. Nate Robinson for a late lottery pick for Donatas Motiejunas (leave him a Europe a season or two).
3. Resign Cook and Mohammed. Consider Pleiss, and Latavious Williams.
PG: Westbrook, Maynor, Ivey
SG: Harden, Cook, Sefolosha
SF: Durant, Sefolosha, Anderson
PF: Ibaka, Collison, Anderson
C: Perkins, Mohammed, Aldrich
Rotate (Cook/Sef) and (Collison/Anderson) for offensive and defensive purposes. I think Anderson’s game will blossom working with Nick.
