The Thunder are still missing a huge piece of what it takes to win a championship. A legitimate down low threat. They didn't use the off season to go out and acquire a big man. The major reason why we couldn't beat the Lakers in last years playoffs is because our bigs could not compete with their bigs. Because of our failure to get a big man we are now worse on defense. Don't believe me? Watch the games, we get killed down low. Serge Ibaka is our soul line of defense ,but he still has trouble with the taller big men. Kristic is not athletic enough and the only other big man we see on a consistent basis is Nick Collison. Don't get me wrong we are good enough right now to beat most teams in the west because of how well Kevin Durant, Russel Westbrook, and Jeff Green play together. Also Serge Ibaka and James Harden are giving us a huge lift off the bench ,but when it comes to beating the Lakers or the Spurs let alone a few teams in the east. We do not have that big man that can shut down their inside game. I'm sorry to say this ,but we are still a piece away from being able to make it to the finals. Bottom line though we need to start playing better defense or we definitely increase our chances of having an early exit in the playoffs. We aren't going to surprise teams this year. Title contenders play great defense and right now we don't do that. So my question to all you other Thunder fans out there is how can we get better at defense this season? Also what moves can we make this season or who can we sign this off season to make us a better defensive team down low? Let's keep the posts realistic people.
