Oklahoma City Thunder 98, Memphis Grizzlies 95; 2011-2012 Game 3 Quick Recap
The Thunder stay undefeated today, beating the Grizzles on the road to go 3-0 on the season.
Kevn Durant led the team with 32, and Harden added 20 off the bench. Give the Thunder’s defense, lead by Kendrick Perkins and Serge Ibaka, credit for the win tonight. They were able to hold the Grizzlies to 39% shooting, and allowed OKC to make a late run to seal the game.
The Thunder fell into foul trouble early. Both Kendrick Perkins and Nick Collison picked up 2 fouls in the first four minutes. Resulting in extended minutes for Nazr Mohammed and Cole Aldrich in the first half. The second half was a different story, as Perkins was key to limiting Zach Randolph. Memphis had four players in double figures tonight.With Rudy Gay, Zack Randolph, and Marc Gasol all having double doubles
The Grizzlies eventually regained the lead with 9 minutes left 76-75. . The Thunder then went on a 14-1 run. Memphis mounted a last minute come back, but OKC’s defense held up.
Russell Westbrook went a dreadful 0 for 13 shooting. The Thunder actually shot worse than the Grizzlies, finishing 37% on the night. Westbrook eventually came up with two big free throws to make it a two possession game with 3 seconds left.
