Perkins Lost A LOT of weight!
Check out this link from deadspin: click on this. Kendrick Perkins lost SO much weight. He almost doesn't even look like the same player.
"Perk lost 31 pounds during the offseason."
31 pounds is quite a bit in like 5 months. Maybe he got on the Subway diet or something. Regardless, I am actually a bit worried, he was a big (gigantic) rock in the middle of the lane that funneled drivers away from the basket, giving Ibaka more opportunities to be Iblocka. But, perhaps this will help his offensive game a too, giving him more mobility to not be that rock when Russ drives in himself.
Will he lose some strength? Can he be pushed around now?
Or, did he just work really hard to get into the best shape of his life and he will be a beast this year?
I don't know, I'm scared, I'm excited. Let's just hope David Stern doesn't veto the weight loss.
What are all of your thoughts on this?

I don't know
Honestly I’m torn on this. I love the idea of a more fit Kendrick Perkins but at the same time losing that much weight makes me worried that he lost some strength as well. I can’t wait to see him in action though because I think in this case the proof is in the pudding.
It was pretty jarring to see him the first time
kind of like when you see celebrities come off of their crash diets. If it takes additional weight off the reconstructed knee though, it will hopefully be helpful to him.
I have to think that Perkins’ change has to do with what we saw in the playoffs last year. He just had a really hard time staying in front of mobile big men like Zach Randolph, Dirk, and Chandler. Part of that was Perk’s injury recovery, to be sure, but there is definitely a trend in teams utilizing big men who can move well. Plus, the Thunder want to play in an open offense.

So glad to see Perk not pulling an Eddy Curry and gaining weight / being lazy once he signs a contract...
You can tell he REALLY wants to get after it this year =)

wow that is jarring
he looks much smaller. but i think he might be more like chandler now. long slim arms might be his best look. we will see how he performs this sunday.

I doubt he loses much strength
and what he does will be made up for with more stamina and mobility.
