Free Agency Thoughts

Hello Thunders Community, This is My 1st Fanpost

Star-divide

Well I was thinking that, we should bring in Vince Carter as Free Agents, under the Veterans Minimum wage. I was thinking with VC, we have a little more depth behind Thabo and Harden, Vince Carter is a guy with wide wingspan and can also play the SF position which falls on our benefit with Kevin Durant. Vince Carter can be a great addition to the team, he allows us to spread the floor and also not only that, he can play SG and SF position. The 2 areas where we are lacking of Depth.

Having Carter can give KD some rest during the season, and we dont need VC to score 20 pts a game. Having him give us productive work is great enough, he dont shy away from driving into the paint and scoring.

Starting Lineup Combo with VC

PG-Russell Westbrook,Reggie Jackson, Eric Maynor

SG-James Harden,Thabo Sefolosha, Nate Robinson

SF-Kevin Durant, Vince Carter, Daequan Cook

PF- Serge Ibaka, Nick Collison

C- Kendrick Perkins,Nazr Mohammed, Cole Aldrich

Feedbacks would be Great

Vince will be a challenge to get...

Interesting name. I agree his 3 point shooting is a strength. He doesn’t go inside near as much as he used to though..

He is still under contract at the moment with the Suns. They will probably pay him out for $4 million when the CBA gets signed but then he could sign with anyone including the Suns I believe. I’d think someone will offer him more than the veteran’s minimum but he will be able to select where he wants to go and he may not make money his top criteria. He probably will make getting minutes and playing for a championship the top criteria but I am not sure in which order.

It would seem unlikely he would agree to back up Thabo and Harden. He played 27 minutes per game last season and will probably want 20+ minutes next season if he can get it. They’d probably have to have him take most or over of Thabo’s minutes. I kinda doubt Presti would do that to Thabo, especially for a soon be 35 year scorer. Presti knows he has to improve the defense to win a title. More likely in my mind Carter goes to Chicago or Atlanta or back to Orlando or maybe Dallas or Denver.

I agree a veteran wing could be an attractive target. I’d prefer a taller SF or a SF/PF with a 3 point shot. Probably won’t get it though. Harden will probably be Durant’s main backup at SF based on his good performance there last season.

Vince Carter...

is a lazy, prima donna. No way would the Thunder want a guy like that on the team to throw a wrench in the chemistry.

In a perfect world....

this would happen.

Unfortunately, the world is imperfect, and some poor team will end up paying him ten million. The Knicks, perhaps?
