They boys of the evening
Just made it to the court to warm up…or about five of em anyway. The nice gentleman behind me did a little ‘airball’ action when LBJ’s first shot missed its mark. This could be interesting to see some fans have to break their hate of certain players in order to cheer KD to victory.
James Harden
Rocking all orange kicks – he’s playing on the Desmond Mason-coached blue team. White team will be led by Deray Davis.
In-game play-by-play will come from Miles Rawls and the anthem singer will be Oklahoma City native and Christian recording artist Sandi Patty
Duplicate numbers...
If you’re watching without your glasses or you aren’t familiar with folks, the Blue Team will have two #3s (CP3 and Damien Wilkins) and two #22s (James Harden & Rudy Gay)… there’s also a #3 on the White team (Jamal Crawford)
Russell Westbrook loves
being back! Loves it, apparently. Three monster dunks get the crowd as loud as they’ve been all night. White 24, Blue 22 – 4:51, 1st
Blue 79, White 74 - 2:22, 2nd
Beasley with 27 points, CP3 with 14 assists…
The host, KD, has 19 and 12
The high-flying is fun to see!
Blue up 88-82 at halftime… now there are painted people on a platform getting ready to do the halftime show. Ummm…..huh?
Halftime stats...
For the Blue Team -
Michael Beasley – 27 points (13-of-17)
Melo – 23 points (3-of-4 from three)
James Harden – 18 points
CP3 – 12 points 15 (!) assists, 7 rebounds
Jonny Flynn and Damien Wilkins with 4
For the White Team -
KD – 21 points, 14 rebounds (!), 6 assists
Russy – 20 points
LBJ – 16 points, 6 assists
LaMarcus Aldridge and Reggie Jackson with 8, Jeff green with 6, Jamal Crawford with 3
Final stats
Sorry for the delay, but since I’m talking to myself, I’m sure I’m fine with it! Anyway, after a back-and-forth final minute in regulation, we got free basketball. The KD’s outscored the Melos 15-10 in the bonus five minutes to take a 176-171 win.
Blue team:
Michael Beasley – wow. 56 points on 25-of-35 shooting, 8 boards; Carmelo Anthony had 43 points and 10 boards; another head shake and wow for Chris Paul who finished with more assists than I thought possible. CP3 had 25 dimes, 14 points and 13 rebounds; James Harden and his beard finished with 33 points and 13 boards; Damien Wilkins added 17 points and Jonny Flynn finished with 8, playing 20 minutes…
White team:
KD led his team with 42 points and a ridiculous 26 rebounds and 11 assists. Lebron added 40, 9 & 8 and Russell Westbrook finished with 34 points and 13 rebounds. LaMarcus Aldridge put in 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds while Jeff Green ended up with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Jamal Crawford had 11 and Thunder rookie Reggie Jackson added 10 points in six minutes on 5-of-7 shooting.
Fun times were had by all. More coverage of the game will be on SBNation’s NBA site tonight/tomorrow and (hopefully) here at WTLC too (if I can crank out more than one story tonight) :)
