Next years minute distribution and production levels
Here is how I see the minutes being divided up next year:
Westbrook: 34 MPG
Westbrook is ready for another increase in points/assists/FG%. He's going to get to the line more, will become a better finisher, and he's added a pretty consistent pull up foul line jumper
Harden: 26 MPG
Harden has added some muscle and looks to be very aggressive. I expect an increases across the board with more minutes and better defense with less careless fouls.
Durant: 38 MPG
About the same production from Durant, hopefully a couple less minutes so he's fresh for the playoffs
Green: 35 MPG
About the same production from Gree, hopefully he can hit that 3 a little more consistantly. I love how he finishes near the rim especially along the baseline. I don't see his minutes going down more then this.
Ibaka: 28 MPG
Production Increases across the board. No less then 9/9/2 blocks
Maynor: 20 MPG
Maynor is solid with an excellent teardrop and being more aggressive I see his FG% going way up
Thabo: 20 MPG
He is still a valuble piece to this team but there are just not as many minutes this year for him. I see very similar per minute production from him
Collison: 16 MPG
I love how Collison plays, it seems like every time he comes in the game he makes an immediate impact. He'll get his putbacks/rebounds/and charges taken. I hope his minutes don't go down more then this
Kristic: 10MPG
I do not see Kristic getting many minutes next year, I was so pissed to see him get dominated against the Lakers every game in the 1st quarter. Ibaka should have been starting. He can still hit the jumper, especially in the 3rd quarter so I see us riding the wave when he's hot. As the year goes on Aldrich will start eating into the 10 MPG
Aldrich: 5MPG
I see Aldrich as a Collison 2.0 but will start slow with minutes next year as Ibaka did last year. As the season goes on he will get closer to around 15 MPG as he eats into Kristics minutes.
Cook/Peterson/Mullens/White/Reid/Weaver: 8 MPG
I see Cook getting most of these when the Thunder goes small or in certain situations.

I'm interested in Cook
I think if he shows some consistent range he could work his way in to hit some shots, where Maynor and Harden struggled. And personally, I hope that Aldrich is higher on the depth chart than Kristic all season. I know it won’t happen, but a post presence would’ve made last year a lot easier.
It looks like you're planning on starting...
RW0, Harden, KD, Green, and Ibaka?

The tooth fairy must have a thing for Cole Aldrich.
His tooth keeps disappearing and reappearing.
Not necessarily
I think Harden is still a year away from starting, plus we could use that offense coming off the bench. RWO, Thabo, KD, Green, Ibaka would be my starting lineup. I definitaly think Green and Ibaka can do damage against any frontcourt in the NBA. I’m sick of people saying Green shouldn’t start, he does a lot more then what shows up in the boxscore. Besides, how can you say the Thunder are undersized with they led the league in blocked shots, 3rd best rebounding team, and one of the top defenses.
I have always had high hopes...
for Thabo. His prowess on the defensive side of the ball is indisputable but dang… If there was even a hint of a solid jumper or real 3pt threat in his game, he’d be making 5-7 mil a year and the Thunder wouldn’t have this conundrum on their hands. Obviously people are calling Harden the yin to Thabo’s yang, but it sure makes the depth chart a problem. What I’d like to see out of this season a clear winner at the SG position. Either Harden steps up his defense and remains a handful on offense or Thabo locks down that corner 3 pointer and occasional jumper and it’s settled.

By the end of the year
I could see RW0, Harden, KD, Ibaka, Aldrich with maynor, thabo, green, and collison off the bench but Greens minutes still staying consistent
Boston fan here!
OKC has the pieces why doesn’t your GM make some moves to trade for a superstar type PF. I heard the idea of Josh smith, i think he would take you guys over the top.
But i love Cole to be the Defensive guy there, he will beast it out with any center in the nba.
In time he will be able to defend Bynum no problem, The reason he fell in the draft is because GMs felt his upside was limited, bu they failed to realize that he pretty much a NBA ready player.
agreed he is ....
we do have to pieces but the thin about Presti ( our GM) is that he does trades when most GMs aren’t expecting them …. i think we will see a package trade for a Lamar Odom/Josh Smith( great PF) type of player about three weeks before the trade deadline …. i think he wants Cole to get used to the system first. We will prolly see Krstic/Collinson , Dj White and our first for that PF
I think CA will be a good Center the biggest thing is he inst a free throw crutch in the final mins of the game.
How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.

Why?
Jeff Green is our PF. Period. This is the 3rd summer I’ve had to read this crap. I’m also a Suns fan and unless you want an Amare-like situation, it all needs to stop. Green is not going to go anywhere and he’s not going to be a sixth man. Why would we want Odom or Smith when we already have what they offer. Green is better than Odom everywhere except on the glass and handling the ball. And Odom is spotty with those things. Green doesn’t have the defensive ability of Josh Smith, but that’s what we got Serge coming off the bench for. And as much as I hate to admit it, that’s what we got Aldrich for. So stop questioning Green so much before he starts feeling unappreciated.
Also I really don’t get why everyone is so high on Aldrich. You could say it’s cause he is a young 7 footer. No. He measured just 6’9’’ and some change at the pre-draft combine. Hmmm a 6’9’’ white banger….where have I heard that before….oh yeah, Nick Collison. Maybe it’s cause he was such a beast at Kansas. No. He averaged 11pts and just under 10 boards a game last year as the “best center in the country”. He was better the year before, averaging 14 and 11. I thought you were supposed to get better when you stay in school.
I want to be just as optimistic as anyone, but this guy has bust written all over him to me. Then again there have been many other players that didn’t do much in college before exploding into the NBA spotlight. So who knows. All I’m saying is that we don’t need to be talking about moving Jeff to the bench or even out of OKC to make room for Ibaka and Aldrich just yet.
Ibaka is our Jason Terry, Manu Ginobili type. Not in the scoring sense, just in the burst of energy and activity he gives us off the bench. Some players are better starters and some are better coming off the bench. Serge falls into the later category. Aldrich, on my most optimistic day, is going to take at least a full season before we see any real impact. So let’s slow down a little and enjoy the summer after a very successful year.
We have a solid 6 man rotation as it is not counting Krstic. That’s alot more than some other teams have. So let’s enjoy that a little and let that center find his way onto the court, whoever it might be, in his own time. Remember this team has been built on patience and hard work so far. I don’t see any reason to change judging by the results.
haha
I totally forgot to mention that they were both from Kansas when I was making my Collison/Aldrich point. And i dare say that Collison was much better in college. I don’t have the stats in front of me to back it up but I think it’s a fair guess. So if your all excited about the second coming of Nick Collison in a thinner frame, then let me get some of whatever your on. I’ll keep my fingers crossed in the mean time.
Boston fan here
We here in Boston had our share of young talent a couple of years ago, and unless OKC has a truly dominating PF you will not win a championship. Gasol made green look silly. I get that you guys love the quantity of good players, but if you want to win you will have to trade some of them for a super star type PF. Our 2008 championship here in Boston cost us a 7 players
and two 1st picks for Kevin Garnett. Its cool that green is becoming a great player. but during the playoffs you need a monster down in the block.
It seems to have worked out well
…for Boston if all they were going for was one title. Don’t get me wrong, with the Allen/Garnett acquisition Boston catapulted themselves straight to a championship, and the finals within a 3 year span. But I can’t imagine what the Celts will look like 2-3 seasons from now. In contrast, the Thunder brass are taking more of the San Antonio approach, building a team to compete for the better part of a decade.
I mean...
it’s still a championship, and their team was going nowhere.

yeah but
i know what you mean, but im talking about aquiring a 23-25 year old PF not a 30 year old like the Celtics did in 2007.
I do see a trade coming cause you guys have a roster with at least 22 players, and before the season starts you can only have 15.

wow lol
no one was mentioning trading JG …… im looking out expiring contracts …. and they are mostly bigs….. i think we grab another PF through the trade. Period lol . he could be a very good bench warmer for all i care but as long as he is good enough to come off the bench and be successful is god forbid we have an injury

The Green Situation
I hate to read into things, but let’s think about this for a moment…
Thunder management was at KD’s door a minute after 11pm to offer him a contract extension.
Green has still not been made an offer.
I’m not saying Jeff is on the same level as Kevin. I don’t think even he expects to get KD money, but he’s got to be a little bothered by the fact that the team hasn’t taken care of him yet.
Does anyone else think this signals the eventual exit of Jeff Green?

KD was a no Brainer
Of course he was going to get a max deal so we wanted to lock him up ASAP. Green is a restricted free agent and we can match any offer. Why would we pay Green before the market determines what he’s worth. I love the guy, he had that sick dunk against Atlanta to win the game last year, plenty of clutch last minute 3’s, come from behind fast break blocks, and seems like the perfect hybrid PF that can stretch the floor so westbrook can penetrate, and use his athleticsism to cause some major matchup problems. Plus he’s so versitile on both ends of the floor. KD has already said he wants to keep Green, but Green could potentially be a 6th man by the end of the year and we can’t afford 15 mil a year for that. I think Green is a great fit for this team and I hope he doesn’t leave but you never know what could happen, I trust Presti to do the right thing.

Why when someone says we need a PF does everyone thing green is going somewhere
lets not forget he was drafted as a SF and we currently do not have a backup SF who can sit in for KD if needed ….. Thats Green, a FULL MLE player. i’m pretty sure we sign him up because if we dont we show weakness a al Jazz/Portland in the Paul Milsap scenario . We either sign him or let him go and my best are for the former. I LOVE green but if the Thunder brass dont like his play then he is gone. its as simple as that.
Serge should never be a started until he becomes much more consistent and i think Nick either signs for much cheaper or he is gone too. Money speaks volumes to a vet like Nicky.

How about we sign Taylor Griffin since the Suns let him go
and then we use that to get Blake here?
Isn’t that what OU did?
