Game 64 Preview: Oklahoma City vs. New Jersey
This also counts as an open thread, so feel free to post your thoughts during the game here.
Records: The Oklahoma City Thunder (39-24) vs. The New Jersey Nets (7-57)
Time: 7:00 PM Central Standard Time
Place: The Ford Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
TV: Fox Sports Oklahoma, YES
Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1)
Enemy Blog(s): Nets are Scorching, NetsDaily
Previous Meeting(s): Dec. 28
For Matchups, go here. The only difference is the Nets use of Jarvis Hayes rather than Trenton Hassell, and I don't think that will make a huge difference. It will only slow down Durant a bit.
Backstory: After a nice, uneventful win against the Hornets, the Thunder look to build on their winning streak against the pitiful Nets. The main story of today will be the injury of James Harden, and how well Anderson, Ollie, or Weaver can replace him. It's pretty much the perfect game for this pitfall to happen, because I think a lineup of Ibaka, Collison, Weaver, Maynor, and Ollie could beat the Nets if they played 48 straight minutes. I know, I'm being a jerk, but I've been on the bottom of the heap before, so I'm going to enjoy my run in the upper echelon while it lasts.
Just remember....IT'S ALL NEW!!!!
Prediction: Oklahoma City 101, New Jersey 88

I think so, too.
I wish I had the energy to dig up all those preseason prediction threads and see how many people thought we’d be doing this well.

This might
get out of hand for NJ.
Looks like Weaver’s in the game. Hope he plays well.

Good first quarter.
Thunder playing good defense and keeping Lopez out of the game so far. I’m interested to see if Brooks will still sit Durant and Westbrook at the same time with Harden out.
Green playing out of his mind.
That steal + the and-1 was amazing.
That'd be awesome
But I think he’ll fall short. It’d be hard for him to repeat that kind of performance in the second half.
Not to mention
that Brooks tends to pull guys and rest them, rather than having them go after numbers.

We won
That’s all I care about. No style points in the NBA.

Thats...
True, although, NJ maybe the worst team in the NBA ever, record wise.

But I just read that kirilenko, price and okur are all ruled out for the game tonight. Couldn’t wait for the pregame thread. Ha
