Game 63 Preview: New Orleans at Oklahoma City

This also counts as an open thread, so feel free to post your thoughts during the game here.

Time: 7:00 PM Central Standard Time

Place: The Ford Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

TV: KSBI-TV, Cox Sports Television

Radio: WWLS The Sports Animal (98.1)

Enemy Blog(s): At The HiveHornets 24/7

Previous Meeting(s):  Jan. 6Feb. 3

For matchup analysis, go here.

Backstory: The Thunder are facing the Hornets in what is sure to be an important matchup as both teams look to make playoff runs. Both runs are unexpected though, both with different reasons for being so. The Thunder, obviously, have had a excellent run after last seasons disastrous start and finish. The Hornets are unexpected because their star, Chris Paul has been out for an extended period of time. Daren Collison, unexpectedly, has stepped up and all but filled the void. This keeps the Hornets around .500 and winning the games they should, but not necessarily good enough to beat out the Thunder.

Prediction: Oklahoma City 105, New Orleans 102

I was...

listening to the sports animal before the game, Traber and Eshbach have absolutely no clue what they are talking about when it comes to the NBA. I seriously had to stop listening until they went off the air.

I grew up listening to Traber and Eschbach

So I’ve learned to appreciate their lunacy as “endearing”.

That being said, Traber does know a lot about baseball and football, while Al knows a lot about OU Football and basketball. But as far as the NBA, it’s pretty clear they’ve only watched it in passing, at best. Also, Traber’s willingness to take the moral high ground combined with his inability to see or listen to any viewpoint other than his own can make him unlistenable to the untrained ear. But, once you realize how ridiculous he really is, listening to him embarrass himself over and over again, talk loudly about issues, and talk about random, completely non-sports subjects in a upfront and personal manner isn’t all that bad. It’s pretty hilarious, in fact.

When you get right down to it, you’re listening to a guy who watches The Bachelor and Dating in the Dark, yet claims to be a tough guy. He’s a guy who claims to be a morally sound human being every time a kid calls on the air, yet lived a life of heavy drinking, drug usage, and general sleaziness before the mid-90s. You’re listening to a guy that once claimed that Antarctica was North of the North Pole.

Once you stop taking him seriously, it gets better. Trust me on this one.

for some reason it doesn’t seem like the Thunder are playing very good, but I’m kind of in and out of work so a little hard to pay attention

grrrr.

I was so mad when westbrook was pulled. I know scotty was trying to be classy, but triple doubles are the ultimate confidence boosters. Oh well, other than the 1st quarter, the team played great and that’s all that matters.
