The Nets have gone 3-10 since the triple-OT madness that both teams endured, with wins against Washington, Atlanta, and Memphis. But they've gone 3 and 3 over their past 6, and they're still the same team. Scheduling has just worked against them.
So, with Monday's embarrassing loss, the Thunder have to take things one game at a time again, and the road back to the Western Conference elite begins with New Jersey.
But, there is good news. Anthony Morrow, who dropped 25 on the Thunder during their last encounter, is out with a Hamstring injury. Additionally, Russell Westbrook, who seemed to be out with an elbow injury, was practicing the next day, and will be good to go tonight. One also has to take into account that Kevin Durant will be playing, whereas he was out with injury the last time we faced the Nets.
Regardless of all those facts, we always seem to have problems with the Nets. Brook Lopez destroys us in the paint, and Travis Outlaw always produces solid numbers against us. But Devin Harris always has trouble against Russell Westbrook, and without Morrow's sharpshooting, the Nets won't have anyone to pick up their scoring load. Thus, I think the Thunder will win tonight, if not by a huge margin.
Prediction: Oklahoma City 105, New Jersey 98.
