Yes, I agree. “Thunder Up” is a pretty good marketing campaign, but as a chant it is horrible. Don’t bleed your marketing campaign into the game presentation. The only consolation I have is that they can never get the fans to chant it and they seem to have stopped trying.
Why do we have to chant something all the time? Oh, and we should stop chanting “CHARGE” when we have the ball. Not really the appropriate word choice for basketball. But now I’m being nit-picky.

Entertaining insight into Thunder basketball.
my Thunder resolutions
Since returning from the knee injury in early December, the Thunder are 8-2(the two losses coming against Dallas and Denver) when Nick Collison plays 20 minutes or more. He’s the team leader in offensive rebounds and is a terrific garbage scorer, which is key given the Thunder are pretty ordinary shooting the ball as a team.
I’m wondering if Collison should take over the starting gig for Green, and let him be a bench energy guy along with Harden. This way you can keep Collison closer to the painted area, and use Kristic as the pick and roll guy and floor spacer. I also think Green’s game fits better playing alongside Ibaka than it does Kristic.
He might not have the draft pedigree or flashy game of OKC’s young guns, but Kristic could be a lot more effective if the team helped him play to his strengths. Kristic’s usage rate is the lowest of his career, which is a shame because he showed in New Jersey that he’s got a pretty good post game and he’s definitely the team’s best midrange jumpshooter outside of Durant.
It's an interesting proposition....
but if we were to do it, we’d have to make sure to have Krstic score while that rotation was out on the floor. Without Green, we’d really be left with only two scorers (Durant and Westbrook) on the floor, and we’d have to make sure that if Westbrook was having a bad shooting night, we could count on Krstic to make up for him. But, in the end, I don’t think that any of these rotations are ideal,m and we really need to consider moving Green for a true Power Forward at some point down the line. I’m not saying abandon ship, but I am saying that if the right offer came our way down the line that we should take advantage of it.

I'm against moving Green.
If anything, keep him as a 6th man who can spell both forward positions.
Good point about the offensive liablity of that lineup.

Kristic has had some injuries the past few years, so I suppose it’s possible he’s not entirely the same player, but if the Thunder could implement him the way the Nets did during his time in New Jersey, I think he’d be a perfect compliment to the slashing style of Westbrook and Durant. Kristic can score with his back to the basket(something you can’t really say about anyone else on the roster), but more importantly, he has range on his jumper which make him lethal on pick and rolls.
That version of Kristic was far a more efficient scorer than Green has ever been(even in college, where he was inconsistent shooting the ball at times, too), posting better true shooting perentages, with similar of slightly superior usage and turnover rates.
I would contend that the biggest reason Kristic doesn’t score as much as Green is because they don’t run nearly as many plays for him as they should. Either way, the Thunder starting five isn’t going to light it up offensively. That isn’t their game, nor should it be.
Good point about Collison.
I agree, he is our best rebounding big and we should try to keep him around for awhile.
I remember Collison/Kristic combo being discussed earlier this year, perhaps at dailythunder. I agree completely. The same with Green/Ibaka or Thomas (peferably Ibaka). Although in the long run, I see Mullens taking over Krstic’s role.
Not counting White, the only expendable big we have at the moment seems to be Thomas.

Some good points....
I also wish Green would play closer to the rim, but I think he only does it when he can. When he faces a defensively superior opponent, he has to get tricky and throw up those circus-like shots, because there’s no way he’s overpowering a guy that’s way stronger than him. Still, it might be better for him to pass and just go for the shots he’s absolutely sure about, even if that might make a 4-6 night rather than a 7-21 one.
And yeah, the chants are a bit overdone. During less crucial plays, some interstitial music would suffice. Even I get tired of chanting!
I don’t think the slapping hands after free throws is going to stop. I’ve seen it ever since I’ve watched basketball, which is the late 90s. I even remember Reggie Miller missing a free throw (which was extremely rare, I think it was his first miss of the playoffs) and then refusing to slap his teammates hand, saying he didn’t need it. He then proceeded to make the next freethrow. The commentators remarked on it, but that’s the only instance I can remember it not being done. Well, of course, there was the infamous “Air hand slap” moment from Andrew Bogut, but he was trying to get his hand slap. Video Here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zc11PUnFgkQ
Still, I liked the list! And for anyone who may be reading, I’m working to get caught up with the games. It’s not only a matter of making the recaps, I still have to watch the games as well. I’ve been pretty busy, and I actually missed my first game of the season last night, so hopefully that’s a good indication that I wasn’t just slacking off.
