Seattle, I just found you a team, you're welcome.
JE Skeets over on Yahoo!Sports posted on his blog today a story about Sacramento possibly losing the team because the arena is not up to par. Sound familiar? The team's pretty bad right now, but they are rebuilding; the Evans kid has a chance to be a stud. So, get some money together and have them buy the team, lets say..., the 'other' MySpace guy, he went to Uni of Washington.
Okay, so now that we found you a team you can stop being mad at us. At least the city, but you have our permission to stay mad at Clay B forever. The balls in your court, or, well not in your court, it's in Arco Arena, go grab it. Hurry before the Maloofs get smart and move the team to Vegas.
Heres the story:
SL: Mayor Kevin Johnson, worried Sacramento could lose Kings
Ryan Lillis and Tony Bizjak, Sac Bee:"After learning that Arco Arena is considered unsuitable to host a major college basketball tournament, Mayor Kevin Johnson said Tuesday that Sacramento could lose the Kings if efforts for a new arena aren't stepped up. 'If we don't have a clear path to an arena in the not too distant future, then we as Sacramentans need to know that (the Kings) very well may look elsewhere,' Johnson said. The mayor made his statements after finding out the NCAA had bypassed Sacramento's bid to host the regional round of the men's basketball tournament. Arco Arena has hosted the money-making event four times since 1994. Sacramento Sports Commission officials said they were told the city's bid to host tournament games through 2013 had been denied because of concerns over the conditions at Arco Arena."

Ummm… here’s how it reads from the perspective of Seattle.
“So, Seattle… we stole your team. Sucks to be you. Fortunately, we found a different, less talented team that you can rip away from its loyal fanbase.
Best wishes.
-OKC"
"If the Lakers are Hollywood, then we are South Central." - Clipper fan.
not trying to troll, not even a Sonics fan. Just saying that they want their team… better than ripping a franchise away.

I'm still baffled
by the whole “OKC stole Seattle’s team” that people keep throwing around.
Oklahoma City had nothing to do with Seattle losing it’s team, other than being a more viable option than Seattle to have a team.
And don’t say Seattle is a better city for a team. If they were, they’d still have one.

Funny how the shoe is on the other foot
I’m going to remember this little post if the Kings do end up moving to Seattle. It will hurt me less because I live in Seattle, but it will hurt practically every other Kings fan alive. But, I’m not a Sonics fan, and don’t wish to root for the Sonics.
All you people have convinced me is that you don’t care about anybody else anymore than anyone else does. Therefore I no longer feel OKC fans aren’t really just fans who wanted the NBA in the Sonics moving to OKC anymore. You’re part of the same conspiracy that kept the Sonics from staying in Seattle to begin with.
(You’re sneering is beneath you. Lose it.)

Well
This was more joke than anything. Not a serious plan of action on how to get an NBA team. But, you have to face facts, the NBA is not going to expand, at least not in the convectional way. So, for Seattle the only option is to get another team from another city. Yeah, it would suck for Sacramento, but, I guess the question is would you want fans to go through the same thing your city did? Or, do you not want to ever have an NBA team again? Other team options would be to take a less established team, like the Bobcats, the Griz, or New Orleans. These teams have less emotionally invested fans for the most part, simply because the teams are relatively new to the areas.

I already know that the Kings could move. I am, after all, a Kings fan. I’m well aware of the situation there. I live in Seattle; I have never been (or ever will be) a Sonics fan. I have empathy because I felt there was a lot of chest pumping and touting about what a certain side did.
The only people who lost with the Sonics moving were the fans. Noone else.
