Mavs get Marion, Pay Grizz

This has nothing to do with the Thunder but I had to talk about it. I don't see why we didn't take the opportunity to get paid to do nothing though. We had the cap space too.

The Mavericks get SF Shawn Marion(5yr/$40mil) and PF Kris Humphries.

The Grizz get G/F Jerry Stackhouse and (likely) $3mil. (Which covers the $2mil it will take to buyout Stackhouse.)

The Raptors get G/F Hedo Turkoglu, G/F Devean George, and G/F Antoine Wright. (Also get to keep MLE)

The Magic get $8 million trade exception.

The Thunder get nothing.

Like I said this has nothing to do with the Thunder but I just wonder why something like this doesn't come along for OKC. I mean the Grizz and Magic get something for nothing. Turkoglu was going to sign elsewhere anyways. The Grizz are gettiing paid to make this all happen. That's it. All they have to do is waive a guy and cash the check. Easy million.

I mean I'm actually amazed at how four teams can come together and everyone gets something. I know that's how it's always supposed to be, but it rarely happens.

I personally see this as a very good situation for Marion. Other then going back to Phoenix, this was the best place for him to go. It makes the Mavs real contenders again and I think will return Marion to his All-Star capability. Kidd is no Nash but he is the next best thing for Marion. Also I don't know if it was because of the other players at his position in Toronto or if he just sucks, but Humphries could add a big body inside for the Mavs.

The Raptors also improve considerably with this deal. Obviously Turkoglu is going to fit in much better than Marion. The Raptors trade versatility on defense for versatility on offense, as Turkoglu can run the offense as needed. George has always been a decent player off the bench, which will add depth to a thin lineup in my opinion. I don't know much about Antoine Wright, but with soon to be Cavalier Anthony Parker gone, I'm sure Wright will help.

Why can't all trades be this productive for all parties invilved. Why can't OKC find these freebie deals to tag along with? I assume we aren't making any moves since I have heard of noone coming or going from OKC since the draft, so I wouldn't mind seeing us do some other things to help ourselves like this sort of deal.

Basically I just wanted to hear what other people thought about this deal. I'm just happy to see the first "fair" trade in years. I just had to talk about it.
