This isn't a rumor, but a pipe dream

I know I'm one of those people who preaches about keeping the "core group" of our players together, but I saw this on RealGM.net:

Chris Paul believes that the Hornets could trade him because of their financial situation.

New Orleans is set to be over the luxury tax, and might have to bite the bullet and deal away some big contracts.

"In this league, anything can happen," Paul told Pro Basketball News on Thursday. "I can be dealt."

Paul was then asked if he seriously thought he could be dealt.

"It's possible," he reiterated. "It's possible."

I am a huge fan of Chris Paul. I think he's the best PG in game. In fact, if I were starting a team and could pick one player to build it around, he's my guy.

I would give them Westbrook and First-rounder and expiring contracts or whatever else they wanted to land Chris Paul. Even without that Center we all covet, I think Paul makes us a playoff team instantly, and maybe a challenger to win a series in the first round.

As I said, this isn't even a rumor at this point, just speculation based on speculation.

Any thoughts?

(Other than I should stop speculating.)
