Trade for Blake Griffin
Clippers Get:
2009 3rd Draft Pick (Ricky Rubio)
2009 25th Draft Pick
2010 Phoenix's First Round Draft Pick (we own this pick from the Kurt Thomas trade a couple years ago)
Thunder Get:
2009 1st Draft Pick (Blake Griffin)
ESPN TRADE MACHINE: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q94t8g
I personally love this trade because we are starting to get to the point where we can win basketball games and don't need five more first round drat picks. Ya, it's nice to have them but lets see what we can get for them. Clippers would love to get rid of Camby's huge contract and not have a log jam at the center and power foward positions while starting to rebuild their team with some great pieces. Rubio would be a great fit to go along with gordon and thorton for the future. Plus they get a couple other picks to continue building their young team.
OKC Fans:
Imagine this lineup for next year:
PG Westbrook
SG Sefalosha
SF Durant
PF Griffin
C Camby
6th man- Jeff Green!
If Jeff Green is our 6th man (he can still play 35 mins a night like jason terry and all those other great 6th man players) you know you have a deep team! This will improve our bench, defense, rebounding, and WINS!

Probably not enough for the Clippers
I know they are in love with Rubio, maybe if we pull off that trade with the Pistons and get the 15th pick something like this may work.
Can we please keep at least one white guy?!
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain
That is American!

Up to this year I was rooting for that tribaled out malcontent (anyone seen him look happy?). Now I would be shocked if he made a squad next year. If you are reading this Swifty, feel free to prove me wrong.

No Offense, but
he is just scary looking, and I’m not talking about the tats or hair. Dude looks confused and unsure of himself.

So true, he’s a little unsettling.

unrealisitc
We’d have to give up those 3 picks and probably westbrook to get Griffin, and Camby’s a free agent after next year so there’s no point in trading him when they can use him to get another piece. If they could stay healthy the Clips should be a playoff team.
Davis, Gordon, Thornton, Griffin, Randolph, Camby, Kaman, R. Davis.
They’ve got a lot of talent and are actually fairly deep. Don’t seem the trading the pick unless its for a superstar, and I think Davis would have to be included in any deal because both sides are wanting to get away.
You bring up a good point in that
if you look at their team even WITHOUT a #1 pick, the Clippers look like a playoff team, yet they are one of the most inept teams. Even without the injuries I think they would be a crap team. Mardy Collins, DeAndre Jordan? Both performed extremely well when they had to put up big minutes. The problem lies with Dunleavy, Baron Davis, Zach Randolph, and to a lesser extent Al Thornton (no shooting ability, doesn’t play defense even though he’s certainly athletic enough to). I tell you what, if Nellie or Larry Brown were coaching the Clips, I’d feel like they had a shot at .500.
Dunleavy is
worthless. He botched things with Brand and they traded for the Black Hole in Randolph. Dunleavy likes to control things but Davis is great when the tempo is sped up. He needs to let go, realize this team’s best chance of getting to the playoffs is through him preaching “timely stops” and letting these guys just run and gun.
he didn't botched things with brand
brand betray him, he wasn’t honest, and we don’t blame dunleavy we blame f-elton. On the trade, like someone say higher, we aren’t trading the pick with OKC unless the word Durant is in the offer and that’s just not happening.
That is all right
Griffin will be coming home to soon enough. Give it a couple of years, but he will join our team eventually. He has no choice. Griffin will be assimilated. :p
Brand messed over Davis. I couldn’t believe it when Elton bolted and left Davis stranded.

look
you guys have a pretty nice team durant, westbrook, green, you are adding someone, but i really don’t think griffin is gonnba be in the durant era, he will be in the gordon/griffin era in la. we are pretty much settle for the next years gordon/griffin/thornton should be in the playoff hunt this or next season. I actually like your team and were my second choice for getting the 1st pick i mean durant/griffin would have been insane to watch.
thats not what was written last year
there was a ton written about how badly Dunleavy handled the situation from the meetings with Brand to the contract offer that was made to everything in between, there’s a ton, not just from Brand or his circle that says Dunleavy screwed up.
dunleavy has ton o flaws but what brand did was unclassy
come on the guy wouldn’t pick the phone when we were calling after we had something almost settle, didn’t give us a chance to reply to philly, and screw his friend (Baron).
Brand or no Brand
Dunleavy should not be employed in the National Basketball Association.
