Forget Thabeet, Problem Solved
So I was over at www.nbadraft.net taking a look at the latest mock draft, and I saw something interesting. They already have a mock draft for 2010. Wow. Talk about looking into the future.
Anyway, the projected the Thunder taking University of Tulsa center Jerome Jordan in the second round next year. He's a legit 7-footer with shot blocking ability. That solves our "man in the middle" dilemma. Granted, we have to wait another year, hope that he doesn't get injured, and of course, that no one else drafts him, but still, it frees us up to take James Harden (or Curry) at #3 this year.
P.S.
Jordan's only listed at 237lbs., so if you live in the Tulsa area, could you send that kid some pizzas and bulk him up a little?
This post does not reflect the views of the staff of Welcome to Loud City or SB Nation. However, it was made by one of the members of the Welcome to Loud City community, so there is a large chance the above post is extremely ballin'!

It's semi-serious
Part of it was geared toward the lunacy of already having a mock draft for 2010.
Part of it was geared toward the mentality that Thabeet is the best option because he’s a big who’s a defensive presence.
There’s no way we can reasonably expect OKC to be a contender next year, so why not take a less risky player at number 3 this year. There will always be big bodies to fill that 5 spot on the floor.

Like
all the bodies we had to fill in at the 5 last year? No offense but your an idiot if you believe that. Look not further then this years draft. How many different guards and even forwards are there that are very similar talent wise, now look at the crop of centers. Two are projected in the first round. Big guys proven in college and with the potential to be a very good player are few and far between. Sure you can throw any old 7 footer with two left feet down low and reserve your seat in NY at the end of the year, but this team has the potential to be so much more. I dont see the bust factor. He played at UConn for 4 years and got better every year. Its not like he is coming out of some mid major school where the lack of competition made him look great. He played against the best and at the least held his own. The only way the Thunder shouldnt draft him is if they land someone like Gortat in FA or Kaman through some sort of trade. You dont draft with the expectation to be in the lottery again next year. You fill holes or take the best available player and Thabeet fits both. Especially with all the guards and forwards we already have on the roster. If you recall Swift wasnt the worst thing down low last year when he wasnt sulking and hes a red headed white dude. But it ends with him at center for the Thunder. To me its a no brainer even with the supposed bust risk. I mean at worst what is he going to be? Samuel Dalembert? Dikembe when he was 35? If thats the worst case, and I think it is, its still an upgrade. We can get someone just like Harden or Curry with our second pick. And those guys arent going to start even if we got them but Thabeet could and will.
Why not take
DeJuan Blair then Or any of the other guys that routinely pushed Thabeet around. If there were ever a recipe for bust, it’s Thabeet. No passion. No offense. Tall and skinny. I highly disagree he’s the best player available.
OKC isn’t building a team around the 5. No sense wasting the #3 pick on a guy like that.

2010 Draft? Already?
I’d rather not think of that considering we don’t know where we would be anyways, we could not even be in the lottery after this draft & offseason, who knows? Wow. Task at hand is 2009 Draft.
Remembers when GP & the Reign Man were the best Duo in the NBA, hence the 4020...R.I.P. Seattle Supersonics & welcome Oklahoma City Thunder
Yeah...
They project the Thunder picking 4th in 2010.
I’m a little more optimistic than that.
What are everyone’s thoughts on Jrue Holiday? If we get the 15th pick from Detroit, he could be a good pick up. Play PG and SG.

no they dont
all they do with the 2010 is use the same standings that ending this year, hence the thunder listed 4th. relax.
Pick 25
Why not hope for Hasheem with the 3rd pick and then get either Terrence Williams or Wayne Ellington with our next pick? That way we can try to fill multiple holes at one time rather than conceding that we cant contend this year.
I don't like Thabeet
He has bust written all over him. Tall and skinny. Gets pushed around by smaller players. Can’t score. Doesn’t seem very athletic. Doesn’t seem to have the passion for the game.
He’s like a black Shawn Bradley.

And shockingly, also a mormon.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain

Skills wise, though,
He’s basically Jason Kidd with Dwyane Wade’s athleticism and driving ability. I’ve never seen anything like it. Zero shooting ability, but the rest of the package is pretty crazy.
John Wall
has bad news written all over him.
Sooner or later, they’re going to have to clean up the character issues in the NBA.
I blame a lot of it on the NBA and NCAA rules, making it a crime for these kids to get paid, either while in college or by preventing them from going pro.
Obviously, that’s not the only reason behind so many of these athletes getting into trouble, but it’s part of the problem.

Jerome Jordan's name reminds me too much of Jerome James.
Three things you must know:
-"Ben Gordon is a bundle of muscle and clutch. That's all he's made of. Drink BG7 energy drink, you'll grow a pair of balls on your balls."
-Pau Gasol: The defense of a seven foot ladder paired with the post presence of Manute Bol.
-Joakim Noah is better than you.
Think about how the Knicks feel aout Jerome.

I think the Knicks
are going after Gortat.
I know they can’t say anything about it yet, but I have a feeling.
That will disappoint some Thunder fans.
