Okay Rumble is tight, but you've got room to grow

You guys are a new (renewed?) franchise, and as such you're still building continuity and goofy fan-based traditions (see: Celtics, puking green beer AND Lakers, sipping $8.00 Lattes).  I want to start off this post by commending you, the people of Oklahoma City and your PR people for creating Rumble the Bison.  He is, as you can see below, FREAKING AWESOME compared to many, many other mascots.

Compare Rumble to this:

Good lord it's an assault to the eyes and the mind.....

But I digress.  The point is - that Bison up there is playing a drumset and he looks awesome.  Rumble, much like your young team, is something to build on.  He's charismatic, geographically significant, and notably not lame.

But what, you ask, shall we add to Rumble the Bison to make our fan experience that much better?

It's a bird, it's a plane, it's 30 lbs of rubber and hair hurled off of a trampoline!

Here are a few ideas to spice up the fan experience at Thunder games next year:

1.) Add a second Mascot!  I know one that would be perfect: Swish the Fox.  Formerly the mascot for the Bakersfield Jam in the Developmental league, Swish is now without a home, as the Jam have closed their doors after this season.  But seriously...how can you not love this face:

                     It's Swish...he'd like to help

2.) Give away stuff, all the time.  T-shirts, bobble-heads, free hotdogs, whatever it takes to get people excited to see some basketball.  Just try to avoid this kind of t-shirt dispersal.

3.) Find your version of rednecks and market the team to them.  This sounds crazy, but it works.  I don't know what the Oklahoma version of rednecks is, but if you get them excited about pro-sports, they'll make any game more fun.  What if this guy was sitting next to you at a Thunder game next year, he looks like a one-man circus right?  Inevitably, these folks know how to party, and will bring that party to the arena.

What do you think will help enhance the fan experience and get the party started at the Ford Center next year?
