Breaking News: ESPN Reporting Chandler Deal OFF!
Thunder reject Chandler, trade off
ESPN.com news services
The New Orleans Hornets decided to trade Tyson Chandler to clear some cap space and add depth to the frontcourt. They'll have to go back to the drawing board.
The Hornets announced on Wednesday that the Oklahoma City Thunder did not medically clear the center and therefore rescinded the trade. Chandler would have gone to the Thunder for forwards Chris Wilcox and Joe Smith.
"We welcome Tyson back with open arms," Hornets general manager Jeff Bower said in a statement. "We went into this trade to garner more frontcourt depth to add to our team as we continue our push towards the playoffs. We expect Tyson and the rest of our big guys to step up to the challenge."
Chandler, who is averaging 8.8 points and 8.3 rebounds this season, has been bothered by foot problems and has played in only 32 games. He is set to make $12.3 million next season.

Apparently his didn’t pass his physical. We all knew the guy is banged up. My guess is that the extent of his injuries are far worse than the Hornets lead the Thunder to believe.

I’m was HUGE Marshal Faulk fan, and he missed practically a whole season because of turf toe. Turf Toe sounds like a sissy injury, but its really not.

I still can't even believe this...
Man, I was Soooooooooooooooo extremely happy about this deal too. We dumped so much useless weight for a guy who when healthy is quite good. Man this sucks.

but, I guess its better than dumping 24 million in a guy who may or may not play…
We ask 48... We give 48...

I wonder what Presti is going to do now?
…he doesn’t have much time to get rid of all these expiring contracts. Come on Sam, we still need to dump Weezy, Joe Auto, and Earl Watson for sure, and get whatever value is out there.

This sucks for you guys
If only you hadn’t traded for Chandler, you might have been in the hunt for Brad Miller or John Salmons. Instead Chicago gets them and you guys get nothing.
Man I really liked that trade for you guys too. But as a Kings fan who wanted Chandler, I’m sure glad we didn’t take him and miss out on other deals because of it :P
Had a Sixer Fan...
Ask if we would do the same trade for Dalembart?
Thoughts?
I am so smart - S...M...R...T!
Kaman
LarBrd33 has a good point. I attended Central Michigan while Kaman was there so I’ve followed his career pretty closely. He’s a legit 7 feet, has good footwork and can use his left hand as well as he can use his right. He’s also not a bad rebounder. However, his defense isn’t all that great. He’s had some injury issues but nothing too serious. He’s also only 27. He could contribute a lot playing along side Mantis, Green and Westbrook.
