Is John Hollinger Insane?

We've had some discussion on Hollinger's power rankings here before, and how they seem a bit...off? I mean, we all want to believe that the Thunder are improving (and they certainly have since last season), but even the most optimistic fans have to be scratching their heads at OKC being in the top 10 of his Power Rankings.

Now let's take a look at Mr. Hollinger's Playoff Odds:

2010 Playoff Odds

Right now, the numbers for the Thunder are as follows:

Projected W-L: 48-34

Best: 64-18

Worst: 28-54

Playoff Odds: 82.5%

Poll
Are Hollinger's projections reasonable?

I'm happy...

yet deep down inside I’m crying. I really want two 1st round lottery picks this year.

Oh yeah, Why doesn’t Hollinger have the Blazers in the playoffs? That is ridiculous.

agreed, but looks like mid-to-late lotto for ours at best and low 20’s at best w phx. that is the other problem making the playoffs in the west, if you do you probably have a better record than at least 3-4 teams in the East even if ur 8th in the west. Example the thunder have the 13th best record in the league but are 9th in the West. so if they stay there it is pick 14, if they are 8th it’s pick 20 or 21.

I've never thought of it that way...

Ya...

I dunno, can’t really trust these things. Hope they are right though.

Maybe because

now Fernandez is out for the Blazers, too.

They’re getting killed with injuries.

Webster is out too?

Maybe you are right. I just want the Blazers to have a great year. The Nwest division needs to dominate the league.

Yeah I know

The blazers are know for thier depth but when two starters and two other great scorer get hurt there is not much you can really do….. I love my blazers just like my thunder so I hate to see them struggling so bad… The owner has cancer as well as the first assit coach and now the head coach had to have surgery too … It’s all bad for them …

How the hell did that happen? I am Trailblazer fan to the core but I love me some OKC THunder!!! Must be the Hometown pride I feel.

I'll Say it now so you guys can know I'm a true follower: "In Pioli I Trust"

Hollinger's power rankings depend heavily on "what have you done for me lately"

So if you are on a winning streak, and especially if you win against a strong team, you’ll do good in that ranking.

Miller - Roy - Webster - Aldridge - Przybilla. Is that so hard?

Important!

to always win no matter what it takes….even though this is a business, this is also a game and the object of this game is to win..some organizations win with talent, some with money and resources, but there are just a few that will win by doing what it takes and leave blood on the floor…..this is the time for this team to identify themselves from the very top of the organization to the bottom! …..i think this team fits better to stay away from the big stars and the media frenzy and to stick with the play hard and approach every game with integrity and tenacity……this Thunder team simply is “the future of the NBA”
