Iverson on indefinite leave

MEMPHIS (NBA.com exclusive) -- After bemoaning his back-up role with the Memphis Grizzlies, veteran guard Allen Iverson left the team Saturday following a meeting with the team's owner and Coach Lionel Hollins.<!-- START 'inlineAds : default' FILE: /.element/ssi/story/1.0/news/.branding/default/inlineAds.html -->

Memphis owner Michael Heisley gave the four-time NBA scoring leader permission to skip the Grizzlies' game Saturday night against the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to a team spokesman, Iverson participated in a walkthrough at the team's hotel in the morning and then hopped a flight in the afternoon after he and personal manager Gary Moore met with Heisley.

Here is a shocker. A.I. doesn't enjoy coming off the bench. I guess he is trying to sabotage any hope of salvaging his career. After last season's craziness, I'm sure Memphis discussed the role they had in mind for A.I. before he signed with the Grizzlies. Let's see how this plays out.

I think he would be a good fit in Cleveland or in NYC for the shitty

Knicks

Allen Iverson

I feel as if his best years are behind him, not far behind him but it is done and over with as far as him being “the answer” because he just isn’t anymore.
The dude can play and i understand why this is all bothering him but he needs to be the bigger man in all of this and say “ill do my best and fill the role of mentor to Conley & OJ Mayo” who in my opionion, is way more effective that Iverson as far as that teams structure is concerned…Mayo and Gay are easily # 1 and # 2 options and Ai should be happy that he has a team to help contribute some of whats left over within him to an up & coming team like the GRIZZ
Iverson to Cleveland could happen, but what will they do with Delonte? will they play West at backup for the PG position? then what will become of Boobie Gibson who has been HOT lately and playing very good defense?
If Cleveland acquires Iverson? will they pursue Stephen Jackson and Ronny Turiaf with West and big Z as bait? we shall see….very interesting though i think through all of this?
Iverson sits out this year and debates retirement only to come back and play with the Celtics

Mentor?

You’re talking about being a mentor? A mentor? You want me to mentor? I want to go out and be a star, and we in here talking about being a mentor.

sportsnation?

I saw a message from an electricpencils on ESPN’s Sportsnation show today. It was about the Atlanta and Washington game scuffle. Just wondering if it was you

haha

Yeah, it was me. I missed it. I only found out because former Bengal/Raven Will Anderson tweeted me about it.

I was on NBA Coast to Coast last week, too.

I’m an attention whore.
