So GS seems to be having a fire sale and dealing off everyone who either hates or is hated by Nellie, which seems like an increasingly long list. Ellis is the new number 1 guy to be dealt and while I would take on his contract for him alone I would take it on if it meant we could get Anthony Randolph in the deal. GS seems to be angling to run these guys out of town and save money long term because they sold Jackson cheap yesterday. Crazy idea is Collison, Green and Livingston/Weaver/maybe Mullens (basically 1 mil salary player) for Ellis and Randolph. I dont want to trade Jeff, but Randolph is a legit post player who is a terror on the glass and blocks shots. Ellis can be a Jason Terry player where he can light it up for 20 a night off the bench or he could start, and bring Harden and Sefo off the bench letting Harden guard the weaker offensive player and handle playmaking and obviously all 4 can be mixed in together. They would take Nick like they took Vlade because he only has 1 more year left on his deal. Jeff plays a game that could be well suited for Nellie's system. Crazy idea, but one I think would make us better on the court. My only worry is what trading Jeff would do to KD since they seem so close. The other option would be if GS would take Harden instead of Green because he is from Cali, though LA not Oakland and because of Nellie's love of guards. If he can make Curry into a 1, Harden could be a prototypical 2 in his system. I know i am not generally one for trades that add salary especially with guys who have been considered problems where they were before, but at some point everyone cant be the problem and Nellie is fine, can they? From my perspective the deal would be better if Harden was the one going to GS, but i would take it with either one to get my hands on Randolph as the deficiencies we have in the post are even worse than i expected this year. the other move would be to trade for a guy like Kaman, though I think he might cost more if the Clips were even selling him.
